義光教會緣起

本堂址原為前省議員林義雄律師住宅。主後1980年2月28日中午，林母游太夫人阿妹女士及林律師之雙生女亮均、亭均離奇慘死於此，長女奐均雖受重傷蒙主憐憫得以死裡逃生。于此時，苦主林夫人方素敏女士蒙聖神引導求道，並願以本住宅為見證上帝公義，及耶穌基督赦免與拯救福音之地。

本教會地基是耶穌基督

本堂為普世信徒同心合力所建，其基金係由台灣教會會友、社會人士及加拿大、英國、德國、日本、及美國等各國教會同道所奉獻。

主後1982年4月11日復活節獻堂

Here is the site of the residence of Lawyer Lyim, Gi-Hyiong (Y.H.LIN), and former member of Provincial Assembly. Mr. Lyim’s mother and twin daughters were murdered mysteriously and cruelly at this place at noon, February 28, 1980. The oldest daughter survived by the mercy of God after six stabs.

After the murders Mrs. Lyim, Png So-Bin began to seek the gospel by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. She hoped this house would become a church to witness to the righteousness of God and the gospel of forgiveness and salvation. Thus this church is called Gikong Church-the church of the light of the righteousness of God.

THE FOUNDATION OF THIS CHURCH IS JESUS CHRIST

Christians and good willed friends in Taiwan, as well as Christians in Canada, England, Germany, Japan, and the United States, etc. gave funds for this building.
